Well, as sad as it is, we have to admit it: life got busier once the school year started. A and I are both too bogged down with other responsibilities to keep up both an ideal posting schedule and good post quality. So we’ve decided to concentrate our efforts into writing twice a week — you’ll hear from A on Mondays, and from me on Thursdays. That’s not to say those are the only times we’ll post. If something newsworthy happens, you can bet we’ll be here to voice our opinions on it. The bottom line, though, is that we want to continue to give you high-quality writing without the counterproductive pressure of trying to produce a vast quantity of it.

Of course, we’ll still be checking in on the site often, and we’d love to continue to have conversations with you all through the comments. After all, we need to take a break from school sometimes!

Both A and I will both be away from computers over the weekend, so you won’t be hearing from us again until early next week. If you’re in the US, we hope you have a happy Labor Day, and if you’re not in the US, don’t you wish you got a day off from work in honor of people who work?

Since I know how devastating it will be to go a whole long weekend without anything new from us to read, here are some choice posts from back in the day (three months ago, when we started this blog) that you probably haven’t seen before:

We’re going to turn comment moderation off until we’re back, so anything you post will go up right away even if you’re new here. Have fun, and try to shield your eyes from the spam.

This is the first of what will soon be many posts. The two of us have high hopes for this blog. We intend it to be reasonably general - we’ll post about politics, society, science, morality, religion, or whatever else comes to mind. The one thing that we intend the posts all to have in common is an underlying thoughtfulness. We want to write things that are actually interesting to read, will make you think, and will provoke discussion. Hopefully you like what you see. Feedback, of course, is not only welcome but encouraged.
