You’re doing it wrong
A startling sight on my way in to lab this morning. I drove past a guy in athletic gear who was swerving around on his bike, and I thought that was just because he was biking through a busy intersection. As I turned the corner around him, I realized he was teetering a bit because he was only steering with one hand, in order to hold his cigarette with the other. Sigh.

I’m a physicist and long time environmental activist.
I just came across your post about nuclear energy and wanted to say you did a fine job there.
Take a look at my energy presentation and send me an email

And this is America. These are the people who live here.
What does this SAY about us? That’s what I want to know. That we treat the environment better than we treat ourselves? That we’re really trying to be healthy but some bad habits are just really hard to kick? That maybe we don’t want to commit all the way to being the best we can be?
I like your blog. Will be reading more.
Heh, wow. That’s a great picture.
I wonder if what it says is that we are very good at compartmentalizing — in this case, believing that a healthy person is someone who exercises, and not recognizing that other behaviors also impact health. This type of thinking shows up in so many different situations.
